Job summary

Morton Buildings, Inc. is seeking an experienced commercial driver to support its regional delivery network. You will move building materials from regional plants to customer sites, unloading and staging products safely and efficiently.

The role emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, teamwork, and customer service, with home-time expectations and a strong benefits package including ESOP and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Available to travel overnight as needed.
• Standard weight lifting requirements – 50 - 75lbs.
• Proficiency in understanding and complying with DOT regulations.
• Promotes teamwork and cooperation among driver team and others.
• Proven safe driving record and DOT compliance.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to drive for extended periods and work at unloading sites in varying weather conditions.
• Displays dedication to safety, quality, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Plans for daily and weekly deliveries in compliance with DOT HOS rules.
• Performs pre-trip inspection of equipment and cargo.
• Cooperates with the Shipping Supervisor and Traffic Manager for load/scheduling changes.
• Assists Maintenance in equipment upkeep by reporting issues.
• Meets the needs of construction centers and crews.
• Works with other plants to move materials or deliver buildings for another plant.
• Helps mentor new drivers.
• Maintains safety, efficiency, and profitability focus for the department.
• Communicates clearly with the Traffic Manager.
• Exhibits customer service focus with emphasis on quality and timeliness.
• Adheres to processes that align costs with budgets.
• Creates a teamwork environment to support plant and corporate objectives.
