Regional Business Development Lead – East | Multi-State Territory | Remote + Travel

As we continue our evolution, we’re looking for a Regional Business Development Lead to anchor our Eastern territory—bringing leadership, accountability, and a relentless drive for growth.

Your Territory
You’ll be our lead voice and face across:
MO, KY, TN, MS, AL, SC, GA, FL, PA, NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME, DE, MD, VA, WV, OH

What You’ll Own
You’re not stepping into someone else’s playbook—you’re writing it. As the first Regional BD Lead for the East, your responsibilities include:
• Lead and develop a team of Business Development Representatives using LMA (Leadership, Management, Accountability).
• Personally manage key accounts and strategic partnerships.
• Drive growth in target segments like cone fabrication, heavy plate rolling, and consignment.
• Run pipeline reviews, 1:1 coaching, and territory strategy planning.
• Collaborate closely with Inside Sales and Operations to ensure a frictionless customer experience.
• Champion the SSC brand—every message, every presentation, every handshake.

Who You Are
You’re a strategic hunter and a trusted leader. You love the field, respect the hustle, and know how to build relationships that last.
Your strengths likely include:
• 5+ years in industrial sales or BD (steel/fabrication/manufacturing preferred).
• Experience leading or mentoring other sales reps.
• A proven record of winning and growing accounts in competitive markets.
• Comfort presenting to clients, executives, and field teams alike.
• Strong command of CRM tools (Salesforce or equivalent).
• Willingness to travel 70–80% across the region—you're most alive on the road.

Bonus Points If You Have:
• A Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
• Knowledge of steel plate processing, fabrication methods, or project-based supply chains.
• Worked across brands or companies with regional sales integration.
