Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Regional Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our Special Education team. The role involves conducting FBAs, developing BIPs, and supporting IEP goals across multiple program locations with up to 50%–70% travel.

Requires a Master’s in ABA or related field and BCBA credential, with strong training and coaching abilities for staff and administrators. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a BCBA credential.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain crisis management training.
  • Experience and knowledge in ABA techniques, PBIS, FBA and BIP in education.
  • Experience in special education services, compliance, and data-based decision making.
  • Skilled in working with diverse student needs including ASD and ED.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct FBAs across designated schools to guide interventions.
  • Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans aligned with standards.
  • Support development of measurable IEP goals and progress monitoring.
  • Implement evidence-based behavioral and educational interventions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and reduce reliance on 1:1 staffing when possible.
  • Collaborate with campus teams to collect data and adjust interventions.
  • Lead quality reviews and translate observations into recommendations.
  • Coach staff in behavioral assessment, PBIS, data collection, and crisis management.
  • Supervise BACB credential pursuit and related supervision arrangements.
  • Assist leaders in improvement plans and outcome monitoring.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to coordinate support.
  • Ensure compliance with DOE requirements and internal standards.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for decisions and services.

As the Regional Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, you will provide expert behavioral support and consultation for studentsacross multiple ChanceLight program locations within an assigned region. This includes but is not limited to conducting assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, training staff and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

TravelRequirement: Regular overnight & multi-state travel; up to 50% - 70% in order to maintain appropriate on-site presence at all campus's within the assigned region and/or other program locations as needed.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Conducting comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) across designated schools, using observations, interviews, and data analysis to understand the functions of students’ challenging behaviors and guide individualized interventions.

  • Developing and implementing individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) aligned with ChanceLight standards and district guidelines, emphasizing positive behavior supports, meaningful skill development, and measurable student progress.

  • Supporting the development of clear, objective, and measurable Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, partnering with campus instructional personnel to establish effective progress monitoring and connect behavioral supports with educational priorities.

  • Implementing evidence-based behavioral and educational interventions tailored to individual student needs, helping students strengthen academic skills, build social and emotional competencies, and achieve greater independence.

  • Providing responsive crisis intervention and consultation for students exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behavior, while developing proactive strategies that promote safety, strengthen coping skills, and reduce reliance on 1:1 staffing when appropriate to student needs.

  • Collaborating with campus education teams to establish consistent data collection practices, analyze behavioral patterns, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions to improve effectiveness and support continued progress toward goals.

  • Conducting regular quality reviews across assigned campuses at the student, staff, classroom, and site levels, translating observations and performance data into actionable recommendations that strengthen educational and behavioral services.

  • Equipping campus teams with practical training and ongoing coaching in behavioral assessment, intervention, positive behavior supports, data collection, and crisis management, helping staff confidently apply effective strategies in their daily work with students.

  • Providing guidance and supervision to staff pursuing Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) credentials, including RBT, BCaBA, and BCBA certification, in accordance with applicable supervision requirements and arrangements established with the Program Director or VP of Operations.

  • Assisting campus leaders in developing and implementing targeted improvement plans, identifying priorities, establishing actionable next steps, and monitoring progress toward stronger student outcomes and greater staff effectiveness.

  • Engaging in multidisciplinary campus and regional team meetings to share behavioral expertise, evaluate student needs, and develop coordinated support strategies that translate assessment findings into practical classroom interventions.

  • Monitoring adherence to applicable Department of Education requirements and internal standards for educational and behavioral services, identifying areas needing attention and partnering with campus leaders to implement improvements.

  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of assessments, intervention plans, student progress, staff training, and compliance activities to support continuity of services and informed decision-making.

  • Supporting school operations throughout the assigned region by partnering with leaders to advance academic achievement, strengthen behavioral services, and promote staff development and retention through consistent guidance and collaborative problem-solving.

  • Performing additional related duties that advance organizational priorities, strengthen program quality, and expand opportunities for student success.

Qualifications Required:
  • Master’s degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, behavioral health or a closely related field of study.

  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential.

  • Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid state driver’s license.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.

  • Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in training and implementing applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques including positive behavior intervention & support (PBIS), functional behavior assessment (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP) in an educational setting.

  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and personalized learning.

  • Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities.

  • Prior experience and/or highly skilled in providing training, professional development and/or coaching to teachers and education staff.

  • Prior experience and/or highly skilled in crisis management systems and intervention procedures.

  • Proven success in developing and implementing effective behavior intervention plans for students with diverse needs at various levels.

  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.

  • Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or district partners.

  • Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.

  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.

  • Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
