Job description

It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing! We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.

The Supply Base Manager will lead regional and local supplier performance management, critical shortage escalation, recovery planning, and direct engagement with specific or high-risk suppliers to improve delivery reliability, quality responsiveness, and supply assurance for region-specific business units in alignment with the existing global commodity management supplier strategy.

This role serves as a primary escalation point when supplier delivery, quality, capacity, or responsiveness issues place Creation and Creation’s customer commitments at risk relative to the regional and local suppliers in scope, including inside-lead-time support needs, supplier decommits, quality disruptions, and factory constraints.

Creation serves customers in regulated Defense, Medical, and Tech Industrial markets; this role requires awareness of applicable quality, compliance, and customer requirements when supporting supplier performance and escalation activity.

This position will travel at minimum 50-60% of the month and must be based in the US; preferably at a location that is commutable to a physical site supported.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead supplier performance management activities, including supplier scorecards, business reviews, corrective action follow-up, and performance trend analysis for the regional and local suppliers in scope in alignment with global commodity management strategy and performance analysis processes.
  • Serve as the lead escalation point for critical material shortages, supplier decommits, supplier responsiveness issues, capacity constraints, and supplier quality disruptions that impact Creation's ability to support customer requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional escalation teams across Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Program Management, and site leadership to resolve supplier issues.
  • Support supplier audits, factory visits, process reviews, and operational assessments.
  • Develop and manage supplier recovery plans for high-risk suppliers, including clear action owners, commitment dates, updated delivery schedules, escalation paths, and communication cadence.
  • Clearly communicate supplier risk, recovery status, mitigation plans, and escalation needs to internal leadership, customers, suppliers, and executive stakeholders.
  • Build positive relationships with specific regional and local suppliers while maintaining clear accountability for commitments, delivery recovery, corrective actions, and performance improvement.
  • Help align regional and local supplier performance processes, escalation playbooks, scorecard methodology, factory visit expectations, and recovery reporting with current global processes and procedures.
  • Visit supplier locations as needed for escalations, audits, factory reviews, shortage recovery, and supplier development.
  • Travel is expected to exceed 50% depending on business needs.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Procurement, Supplier Management, Operations, Quality, Engineering, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience should include supplier performance management, escalation, MRP planning, purchasing, inventory management, shortage recovery, supplier quality, or manufacturing operations.
  • EMS industry experience and practical experience in a complex manufacturing or multi-location environment are preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including engagement with suppliers, customers, and senior leaders.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing and escalation-driven environment.
  • Strong facilitation and leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to quickly understand technical, quality, supply chain, and operational issues and engage the right subject matter experts.
  • Organized, self-motivated team player able to work well under pressure and maintain disciplined follow-up on critical issues.
  • Ability to create clear executive updates, recovery plans, escalation summaries, scorecards, and action trackers.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to improve functional processes, supplier performance systems, escalation playbooks, and performance management tools.
  • Demonstrates commitment to implement initiatives, exercise independent judgment within broad guidelines, and drive sustainable improvement.
  • Kinaxis/Rapid Response, SIOP process management, Oracle ERP, supplier audit, SCAR, 8D, RCCA, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement experience desired.
