Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Regional Automation Lead for Manufacturing Assembly and Test processes across the US region. You will drive the automation roadmap, lead ROI-driven projects, and oversee multi-site teams to transform manual processes into scalable automated systems.

With 8+ years in manufacturing automation and 5+ years in technical leadership, you will shape controls architecture, collaborate with IT, and travel up to 50% while based on-site at a preferred home location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the automation roadmap for manufacturing assembly and test processes.
• Develop and deploy manual → semi-automatic → fully automatic strategies focusing on scalability and cost effectiveness.
• Lead ROI-driven automation projects including feasibility studies and business cases.
• Design and implement automated assembly lines (screw driving, robotics, vision) and material flow systems.
• Drive line balancing to improve cycle time, throughput and labor efficiency.
• Develop changeover-friendly tooling for high-mix, low- to mid-volume env.
• Lead deployment of automated test stations to improve FPY and data capture.
• Collaborate with Controls and IT on PLC/HMI, MES and data integration.
• Manage cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Establish standardized automation practices, docs and training across sites.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to automation engineers.
• Stay current on emerging automation technologies and assess applicability.
