Base pay range
$65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) is seeking a Regional Associate Director of Planned Giving for the Southeast Region, with a focus on Florida. This individual will collaborate closely with the National Planned Giving team and Southeast Region fundraisers to identify, cultivate, and steward donors and prospects for planned gifts, including bequests, charitable gift annuities (CGAs), and endowments.
The position involves building relationships with individuals and professional advisors to secure legacy gifts, beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities (CGAs), and transforming bequest intentions into actualized planned gifts and endowment funds.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management and Stewardship: Manage a portfolio of assigned Legacy Society members, donors, and prospects with the goal of deepening engagement and identifying new planned giving opportunities.
- Donor Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for a designated group of donors and prospects, maintaining regular communication and tracking progress toward legacy gift commitments.
- Donor Identification and Cultivation: Develop and execute strategies to identify new planned giving prospects and steward existing donors across the Southeast Region.
- Outreach and Education: Engage with donors through personalized outreach, events, meetings, and digital communication to provide education on legacy opportunities, CGAs, and endowments.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with national and regional development staff, chapter fundraisers, and lay leaders to integrate planned giving into local fundraising efforts.
- Donor Engagement and Stewardship: Implement a cultivation and stewardship effort Legacy Society in Sthe Southern Region and support recognition opportunities at regional galas, events, webinars, and planned giving receptions.
- Professional Advisor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with estate attorneys, financial advisors, and CPAs to encourage referrals and support complex gift discussions.
- Gift Documentation and Data Integrity: Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in the CRM database; coordinate with the National Planned Giving team to process agreements and maintain internal files.
- Travel: Travel throughout the Southeast Region as needed to meet with donors, attend events, and represent FIDF at relevant gatherings.
Core Competencies
- Planned Giving Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of planned giving strategies, financial and estate planning, charitable giving vehicles, bequest intentions, Charitable Gift Annuities, and endowments
- Donor Cultivation Skills: Proven ability to build long-term donor relationships and inspire philanthropic commitment.
- Major Gift Experience: Demonstrated success in soliciting and closing high-value gifts; skilled at working with donors and their advisors.
- Strong Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear, friendly, and compelling manner.
- Collaborative Team Player: Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with National Planned Giving and Foundation, Southeast Region staff and the volunteer community.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and online communication tools.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness and availability to travel within the Southeast Region as required.
