Job description

One Federal Solution is seeking a highly experienced Regional Affairs Analyst Level IV to join our dynamic team. This role supports the Strategic Business Unit for Contracting and Acquisitions (SBU - C&A) and requires advanced expertise in U.S. defense trade controls, policy analysis, and international relations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to work independently, provide high-impact recommendations, and communicate effectively with senior U.S. Government personnel, foreign government officials, and other key stakeholders.

Regional Affairs Analyst Level IV Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties required at Level III, including analysis of regional political-military developments, formulation of recommendations, and contribution to defense trade policy initiatives.
  • Apply expert-level knowledge in international relations and U.S. defense trade controls to address complex issues using innovative methods.
  • Make significant decisions and recommendations that impact major public policies, international programs, and diplomatic initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve critical issues that influence the direction and success of major administrative or international programs.
  • Develop or apply new theoretical approaches to policy analysis and regulatory challenges.
  • Produce high-level work that informs and supports other subject matter experts and has broad implications for U.S. foreign policy and security cooperation.
  • Independently initiate Blue Lantern end-use checks, including drafting and clearing cables with minimal to no edits from team leadership.
  • Provide authoritative input into interagency policy papers with little to no revision needed.
  • Independently draft policy and briefing materials with high standards of clarity and accuracy.
  • Lead the planning and organization of End-Use Monitoring (EUM) training and outreach events.
  • Provide expert support during briefings to senior U.S. Government officials, foreign government representatives, Congressional staff, and industry leaders.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of U.S. defense trade control regulations, including ITAR and related policy frameworks.

Regional Affairs Analyst Level IV Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in International Relations or a closely related field.
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience, including five (5) years in a directly related career field.
  • Demonstrated mastery in international policy, defense trade, or diplomatic affairs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects within established timeframes.
  • Advanced ability to analyze complex issues and develop clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Proven judgment and decision-making ability; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels in diverse and high-pressure environments.

Regional Affairs Analyst Level IV Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting U.S. Government interagency processes.
  • Familiarity with Blue Lantern and EUM processes.
  • Knowledge of foreign policy, arms transfer regulations, and defense export controls.
