Summary Of Job Duties
The primary responsibility of the Regional Admissions Counselor – Houston is to educate prospective students and families about the University of Arkansas and its programs. This position is expected to reside in the Houston, Texas metro area, and requires extensive year-round travel to high schools and colleges throughout the assigned territory. This position will work closely with our other regional recruiter currently located in Houston to cover events throughout the metro area as well as central and south Texas. This position will have necessary travel to campus when needed for special events, training, etc. This position will develop and manage a pool of prospective students in the assigned territory and will plan and implement effective recruitment strategies utilizing our CRM to set goals and monitor progress. The Regional Admissions Counselor – Houston will develop strategic partnerships with education constituents including counselors, AP teachers, University of Arkansas alumni, parents, as well as regional recruitment networks. This position will assume other related areas of responsibility as assigned or required by the senior university administration, as well as assist throughout Texas as needed.
The Admissions Counselor is required to give presentations and interact with large groups of prospective students. Must have strong communications skills both verbal and written. This position requires frequent travel either by vehicle and/or travel by air. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
NOTE: The employee is expected to reside in the Houston (TX) metro area as a Remote Worker, according to Fayetteville Policy and Procedures 412.3.
