Job description

Regional Activist (Part-Time or Full-Time)

Thousands of lives are on the line every day due to abortion. Are you ready to stand up and change hearts to stop it? We are defenders on a mission to recruit, equip, and deploy students around Michigan to become passionate and professional social reformers. We won’t stop until abortion is unthinkable. Since 2005, we have grown from a group of volunteers to a team of dozens of powerhouse activists. Each team member is bright, strategic, and dedicated to protecting the unborn.

This position can be filled by a part-time or full-time applicant.

For your first semester on campus, you will be paired with an experienced Campus Activist to receive on-the-job training. Please note that your training location may be further away from the campus(es) with which you would regularly be working.

About the Role

A Protect Life Michigan (PLM) Regional Activist (RA) carries out the mission of PLM by traveling to local campuses and supporting campus staff by assisting in building community, participating in meetings, and attending or leading outreaches. Regional Activists will be trained in campus requirements and in how to lead apologetics training, depending on the RA’s skill and the current needs of the campus groups.

The RA will work with a designated region of schools, and on occasion, may be asked to travel outside of the region to offer support at other schools. RAs report to a Campus Activist Supervisor.

This role can be either full-time (40 hours per week) or part time (20 hours per week), determined by the needs of the candidate and the hiring manager.

  • Lead training in Protect Life Michigan’s apologetics and conversational strategies and tactics, as needed.
Network: The RA will work to create an environment of collaboration and unity between students and the pro-life movement.

Examples of this include:

  • Host or participate in team-building events and activities.
  • Actively encourage students to pursue full-time work in the pro-life movement.
