Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Regional Account Manager to establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, maximize sales, and manage service contracts within the assigned territory.

The RAM will forecast sales, engage internal teams, and drive growth by delivering solutions, reports, and strong customer service. Travel up to 80% is required, with a focus on building long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field(s).
  • 2-5 years of related account management and supervisory experience; automotive or roadside service preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% (minimal overnight travel).
  • Valid driver’s license and solid driving record for a minimum of five years.
  • DOT knowledge preferred.
  • OSHA knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately forecast sales and meet annual sales goal for territory.
  • Represent the Company’s full line of products and services to customers.
  • Create, maintain, and present a Business Plan for assigned account base to Company management.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to inventory, product fulfillment, product quality, tester repair, warranty adjudication, accounts receivables and payables, and driver professionalism.
  • Control inventory levels by counts and reconciliations; lift batteries as needed.
  • Ensure product deliveries are timely and complete.
  • Run data reports to assess performance and identify opportunities.
  • Visit accounts to improve performance and relationships.
  • Promote tester usage, performance growth, and warranty procedures.
  • Ensure contractor network is aware of new initiatives and promotions.
  • Supervise Route Representatives and uphold safety policies.
  • Adhere to efficient operations policies and procedures.

Job description

Job Summary:

The Regional Account Manager (RAM) is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional relationships with customers to maximize business sales; opening and closing service contracts that meet service agreement guidelines; engaging internal departments in developing customer sales performance; and managing the day-to-day operations in the assigned territory. The RAM will be in contact daily with customers, managing opportunities and providing solutions to achieve the desired outcomes. The RAM will support all regional sales needs as outlined by Management and will work closely with other Operations team members to drive growth in the market.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Accurately forecast sales and meet annual sales goal for territory
  • Represent the Company’s full line of products and services to customers
  • Create, maintain, and present a Business Plan for assigned account base to Company management
  • Identify and resolve specific issues related to inventory, product fulfillment, product quality, tester repair, warranty adjudication, accounts receivables and payables, and driver professionalism
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts, cycle counts, spot checks and reconcile inventory with electronic data storage systems. Some physical duties such as lifting batteries is required
  • Ensure that all product deliveries are made in a timely and correct manner without loss of sales
  • Run data reports to assess performance and identify sales/service improvement opportunities
  • Work with high opportunity, non-producing customers as a priority and visit all accounts to improve performance and build effective relationships
  • Promote best practices on tester usage, performance growth, customer service, product knowledge, order entry, and warranty/rotation procedures
  • Ensure contractor network is aware of new initiatives and promotions
  • Responsible for the safety and supervision of direct reports, Route Representatives
  • Adhere to or recommend more efficient operations policies and procedures

Desired Qualifications:

  • Formal sales, presentation and/or public speaking training highly desired
  • Ability to travel up to 80% (minimal overnight travel).
  • Valid driver’s license and solid driving record for a minimum of five years

  • Knowledge of OSHA compliance preferred

Physical Requirements

When completing visits or ride-along in the field:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing in and out of the truck.
  • Ability to lift, carry, transfer and maneuver batteries and other materials weighing between 50-75 lbs. consistently throughout the shift and all stops.
  • Frequent bending, and use of legs, hands, and arms to operate warehouse equipment, and secure loads.
  • Use of a tablet and mobile phone for routing, customer communication, and documentation.
  • Must have sufficient vision, depth perception, and hearing to safely operate a vehicle and warehouse equipment in various conditions.

When at Home Office:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies and materials.

Travel

  • Regular travel within the region, occasional travel within Club Assist territory.
  • Half of the time spent traveling by car.
  • May need to work extended hours based on business needs, with some occasional air travel required.

Work Environment

  • Time split between home office on a computer, or on the road meeting with Team or Customers.
  • Frequent participation in both in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Support operations and customers in various environments, including warehouses and outdoor settings.
