Job summary

HPC is seeking a Specialty Sales Representative to market its specialty pharmacy services and grow the sales within the defined territory. You will report to the Director of Sales and build relationships with medical professionals and offices.

Responsibilities include promoting services, expanding referral sources, ensuring Medicare/Medicaid compliance, traveling to events, and delivering weekly progress reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales/marketing or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for interactions with medical professionals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Windows-based computer applications.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience; experience in Neurology, Immunology, Gastroenterology or Rheumatology preferred.

Job description

The Specialty Sales Representative reports to the Director of sales and is responsible for marketing HPC's services and growing sales within the defined territory.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Promote full line of HPC specialty pharmacy services.

2. Establish, develop and maintain contacts and resources within the assigned territory

3. Expands the current customer base by growing the number of referral sources and patients benefiting from HPC's services.

4. Insure that all documentation is in complete compliance with insurance and/or Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.

5. Analyze and capitalize on the trends and opportunities in the assigned territory.

6. Launch new services for additional disease states.

7. Lead efforts to manage marketing events and represent HPC in a positive manner.

8. Maintains a mastery level of knowledge of prospective customers concerns.

9. Travel to national and regional events.

10.Become a trusted advisor to offices and community members, thus developing mutually beneficial relationships.

11.Provides weekly progress reports to the Director of Sales.

12.Completes all administrative detail on time and with high quality.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales/marketing or related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be a “self-starter”
  • Highly organized
  • Polished presentation and interpersonal skills for interactions with Medical professionals
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Windows-based computer applications
  • Strong communication skills
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Neurology, Immunology, Gastroenterology or Rheumatology is strongly preferred.
  • Specialty Pharmacy, Home Infusion or Pharmaceuticals experience is strongly preferred.
  • Sales experience in Hemophilia or Immunoglobulin therapy is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing large and complex territories is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, be creative, have high-energy, and achieve goals with minimal direction.
  • Candidates must live in state of territory. 50% overnight travel may be required depending on the territory and will be determined by the Sales Director.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s license, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an
automobile.

OSHA Category:

HPC employees are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis B vaccination series. This position requires a TB skin test. OSHA exposure category 3.
