Job summary

AEP is seeking a security professional to coordinate investigations into theft, vandalism, threats and other security matters across a large geographic area. The role ensures security measures and equipment are correctly installed and security practices are communicated to employees, contractors and outside law enforcement.

The ideal candidate has a background in sworn law enforcement or corporate security with at least three years of relevant experience, and may travel up to 40% overnight.

Qualifications

• Education requirements are listed below: Bachelor's degree or associate degree and three years' experience OR High School and 10 years' experience.
• Minimum of three years' experience in one of the following: Sworn Paid Law enforcement at local, state or federal level; active-duty military; corporate security or related field.
• Overnight travel up to 40% may be required; experience in training delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recommend appropriate security personnel levels and equipment; ensure security measures are in place in Company facilities.
• Act as liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement and investigation agencies on vulnerability assessments and security needs.
• Develop and coordinate all facets of physical security including equipment, procedures and methods for protection of personnel and facilities.
• Direct and coordinate investigations with appropriate company personnel, contractors and local law enforcement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal employees, contractors and local law enforcement.
• Coordinate and assist in development, communication and training on security policies and procedures.
• Stay informed on security issues and implement changes as needed.

(in addition to experience listed above). **Additional Job Duties:** * Support executive protection as needed* Working knowledge of investigative techniques and criminal procedure.* Working knowledge of risk assessments.* Guard force management experience.* Responsible for Physical Security of a large geographic area including urban and rural facilities.* Overnight travel up to 40% of the time may be required.* Experience in training delivery is preferred.
