Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician orders, and to consult with physicians on the effectiveness of therapy.

You will serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff, perform duties as assigned, and participate in a collaborative, patient‑focused Mercy team dedicated to high‑quality care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Hold a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is required.
• PALS is required for ER staff.
• Physical demands include push, pull and grip up to 50 lbs. and other mobility tasks.
• ACLS is preferred.
• Critical care experience preferred.

Position Details:

• QualificationsEducation: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.
• Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Preferred Licensure: Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.Preferred Certifications: Preferred Other:
