Job summary

Mercy in Oklahoma City is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care under physician orders, consult on therapy effectiveness, and serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff.

Candidates must graduate from a CoARC-approved program, hold an RCP license and NBRC-specific RRT credential; PALS for ER and ACLS preferred. Prior critical care experience is favored; physical demands include lifting and mobility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• PALS required for ER.
• ACLS preferred.
• Prefer critical care experience.
• Physical demands include push/pull/grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 10 lbs; kneel, crouch, crawl.

Position Details:

QualificationsEducation: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.

Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.

Experience: None.

Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.

Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.

Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.

Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
