Job description

Health Quest and Western Connecticut Health Network have combined to form a new nonprofit health system. The name for the new health system will be Nuvance Health. The new health system was created to provide communities across New York's Hudson Valley and western Connecticut with more convenient, accessible and affordable care.

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Summary:

Sets up, operates and evaluates all types of routine and advanced life support equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness for patients of a specific group of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients as directed by the physician and in accordance with established department policies and procedures under the supervision of the Director of Cardio-Respiratory Care Services and/or the Respiratory Care Manager, Supervisor and/or Clinical Coordinator. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patient served on the nursing unit or by patient care departments.

Requirements:

1. Education: High School Diploma. Graduate from AMA approved School of Respiratory Care. Registry eligible or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
2. Experience: Graduate Respiratory Therapists considered, however, prefer at least 1 year clinical experience in all aspects of Respiratory Care.
3. License: New York State license or permit. Basic Life Support (BLS) through either American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
