Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for per diem shifts. You will provide comprehensive respiratory care to inpatients and outpatients, including ventilator management, breathing therapies, and patient assessments.

The role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and effective communication with the healthcare team. Requirements include NYS licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, RRT credential, and BLS/ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to hospital policies and standards.
• Initiate and monitor mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive).
• Perform various breathing therapies and patient assessments.
• Perform bedside pulmonary function testing.
• Carry out blood gas puncture and analysis.
• Respond to cardiac arrest and Rapid Response situations; CPR.

They will collaborate with patients, family/significant others, peers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team. The Respiratory Therapist assesses the patient's respiratory needs, plans care and implements and evaluates respiratory therapy in accordance with hospital philosophy, policies/procedures, and standards.Essential Functions1.
