This Registered Dietitian will support patients in Cardiology & Cerebral Palsy.

This job will work at our Main Campus on Burnet Avenue. This job is 32 hours/week, working Monday-Friday, day shift. We are open to negotiating the schedule of which days during the week. This job will also be a part of the rotating weekend and holiday schedule.

Job Responsibilities

  • Clinical Practice- Applies in-depth knowledge of normal child growth and development and pediatric nutrition when performing nutritional assessments. Anticipates implications of disease and therapy in the development of complex nutritional care plans including the utilization of existing or newly created nutrition standards of care. Appropriately utilizes roles of team members in helping to initiate a coordinated plan of care. Through advanced understanding of nutritional interventions, the dietitian is cognizant of the impact of these interventions in regards to the patients care and is able to recommend adjustments to meet the needs of the patient and family. Relies on in-depth knowledge and experience to critically evaluate those interventions that will be most successful in promoting positive outcome(s). Individualizes nutrition counseling and education to meet the needs of the patients, families and care providers as well as Developing educational materials as needed. Uses advanced knowledge of internal and external resources to support the nutrition plan of care in preparing the family for transition to home. Incorporates current research into clinical practice and shares information with peers.
  • Clinical Leadership- Identifies learning needs for nutrition staff, health care team members and community and initiates education activities to meet those needs. Identifies and meets ongoing learning needs of diet technicians and/or interns as applicable. Functions as a preceptor in orientation and education of new dietitians, as applicable. Generates performance improvement activities and documents activities for reports.
  • Fiscal Responsibility- Demonstrates awareness of professional time management and fiscal impact of recommendations for nutrition therapy in overall patient care. Completes productivity records and enters charges in a timely fashion.
  • Professional Growth and Development- Assumes a responsible role on a committee and/or work group affecting the department, hospital and/or community. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge (active learning) and personal experience in contributions to professional knowledge. Assists other members by educating, providing resources and consulting on difficult cases.
  • Collaboration- Cooperates with diet technicians and dietitians to complete daily patient care responsibilities. Partners with coworkers and health care professionals to provide valuable input on projects and takes ownership of project(s) as assigned.

To perform medical nutrition therapy for assigned patients and program areas. Conduct nutritional counseling and education to patients and their families/care providers. Support department initiatives to improve nutrition including community-based initiatives. Provide nutrition expertise for division-specific initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
