About This Role

As a member of the Division of Facilities, this role supports the university's daily operations by collecting refuse and recycling items in a large commercial vehicle and transporting the items to various vendors in Riley County.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) without air brake restriction
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and pass the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience driving large commercial vehicles with complex hydraulic systems
  • Mechanically inclined and willing to learn
  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Other Requirements
  • This CDL position is subject to drug and alcohol testing under the authority of the US Department of Transportation. The selected candidate will be required to pass a DOT pre-employment/pre-duty drug test as a condition of employment in this position. This position will also require participation in random testing, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing.
  • Any Commercial Driver who has received a Confirmed Positive Result or the equivalent and has not successfully completed all Rehabilitation Program requirements and follow-up testing requirements is not eligible for this position.
Sponsorship eligibility

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
