Job Summary

The purpose of this classification is to collect garbage and yard trash on an assigned route.

Essential Job Functions

• Collect garbage and yard trash from residential homes or businesses; ensure complete removal; replace bins.
• Follow safety procedures, utilize safety equipment, and monitor work environment for safety.
• Collect miscellaneous items and dispose of materials appropriately.
• Respond to customer questions and complaints; report issues to supervisor.
• Operate garbage truck and tools, including shovels, pitchforks, rakes, and brooms.
• Clean garbage truck daily and maintain sanitation.
• Coordinate with supervisor and public to review work and resolve issues.
• Complete time cards and related documentation.
• Serve as relief driver when needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma and six (6) months of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands
