Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Foundation, based in California, seeks a Refunds Analyst to handle accounts receivable tasks focused on Payor Rules, contract language, and DOFR interpretation. You will review EOBs, offsets and takebacks, ensuring refunds are processed accurately and timely.

The role requires 1 year of medical billing experience, proficiency in Word/Excel, and strong math skills. You will coordinate with payors and resolve complex issues using available tools.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year experience in professional medical billing.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of contract adjustments, deductibles, denial types and EOBs.
  • High level of math ability and 10 key experience.
  • Working knowledge of Email systems and Internet.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of accounts receivable and refunds: Payor Rules, contract language, CCI coding, DOFR interpretation, and how transactions affect accounts.
  • Determine correct systems to locate info: IDX, MPV, Medical Records Systems, Insurance Payor Web Sites, Code Correct Web Site.
  • Manage multiple expectations, tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Timely review of electronic communication to stay informed of changes affecting position.
  • Proactively organize and manage caseload to ensure refunds are completed timely to avoid offsets.
  • Independently research and resolve intermediate to complex issues with available resources and tools.
