Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Corrections Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Instructor at SCI Huntingdon to train inmates in refrigeration and assist in maintaining critical cooling equipment. You will supervise inmate workers, manage tools and materials, and ensure accurate recordkeeping.

The role combines hands-on trade work with vocational instruction, performance of security duties, and adherence to institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in repair and servicing of refrigeration or air conditioning systems.
• Apprenticeship in refrigeration or air conditioning trade.
• Equivalent combination including one year journey-level experience in the trade.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain refrigeration units and related equipment.
• Plan, instruct, and review refrigeration work with inmate workers.
• Schedule maintenance activities and keep accurate logs and records.
• Maintain order and security in work areas during training.
• Issue, inventory, and account for tools, supplies, and materials.
• Maintain training, attendance, wage, maintenance, and inventory records.
