Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Iowa is hiring for a full-time maintenance role. You will be part of a team planning and executing equipment repairs across the plant, ensuring safety and compliance with GMP.

The job requires flexibility to work days/evenings/overnights and weekend shifts. Relocation assistance is available, with education benefits and competitive starting pay of $32.75–$34.75 per hour plus $1.00 shift differential for 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ year maintenance experience or 4 years in related field
• Industrial maintenance knowledge across mechanical/electrical/controls
• Willing to work all shifts and extended hours

Responsibilities

• Have or attain RETA certification
• Demonstrate strong safety leadership and follow safe practices
• Plan and conduct equipment repairs as part of a team
• Conduct routine audits and equipment inspections
• Troubleshoot equipment issues effectively
• Maintain open, professional communication with operations
• Respond to unplanned/emergency work promptly
• Follow food safety and good manufacturing practices
• Be highly motivated and able to work independently
