Job summary

Iowa Premium, a National Beef Company in Tama, Iowa, is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to join our on-site Maintenance Team. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage, comprehensive benefits, and a safety-sensitive work environment.

Hourly wage starts at $25.50/hour and goes up to $35.50/hour depending on experience. Responsibilities include maintaining boilers, ammonia systems, and related infrastructure, with strong emphasis on preventative maintenance and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven work history in boiler and industrial refrigeration (beef industry preferred).
• Strong knowledge in RCM with PMs, PDMs and related training.
• Mechanical and electrical skills across maintenance disciplines.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Valid driver's license and safety-conscious attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair, service and maintain boiler and industrial refrigeration equipment (ammonia systems, compressors, condensers, blast freezers).
• Perform periodic testing of ammonia detection systems.
• Monitor and repair hot water heaters, filters and electrical panels.
• Maintain utility areas and preventive/corrective maintenance procedures.
• Assist in Emergency Response Program and safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
