Who You Are

We are seeking a motivated Refrigeration Technician to join our state-of-the-art, freeze-drying facility in Allentown, PA. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining refrigeration equipment and performing maintenance activities to support the production of fresh, human-grade pet food. The role requires strong mechanical skills, good communication, analytical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, and teamwork skills to meet site objectives.

Responsibilities

• Report and follow up on observations impacting safety, product quality, and food safety.
• Analyze conditions, troubleshoot failures, repair, and perform preventive/predictive maintenance on refrigeration systems, HVAC, and utilities.
• Perform maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Complete work-orders accurately and provide feedback to operators.
• Maintain records to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Must Have

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of refrigeration journeyman training or equivalent experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills on refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read electrical and refrigeration meters.
• US EPA Universal certification.
• Basic knowledge of instrumentation and control logic.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Proficiency with computer and software tools.

Nice to Have

• A.A./A.S. in a technical discipline.
• Food manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP and GMPs.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and related equipment.
• State-licensed refrigeration certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, crawl, and work at heights.
• Ability to work in environments with allergens, heat, cold, noise, dust, and moisture.
• Willingness to wear PPE and adhere to GMP standards.
