Job summary

Reser’s Fine Foods is hiring a Refrigeration Technician 1 in Production. Reports to Maintenance Director. Performs daily readings for ammonia, boiler, and air systems, and completes PMs while assisting ammonia technicians.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 0-2 years mechanical experience, and ability to pass annual medical and pulmonary fit tests for respirator use. Training for advancement is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Must be able to pass annual medical and pulmonary fit tests for respirator use.
• The Refrigeration Technician 1 should be in training for at least one year before becoming eligible for Refrigeration Technician 2.

• Assist Ammonia Technicians with periodic projects.
• Regular attendance and punctuality due to small department dependencies.

Job Summary

The Refrigeration Technician 1 is responsible for recording daily readings for the ammonia, and in some cases boiler, and sir systems. This role will also perform assigned PM’s associated with said systems.

Essential Position Functions

• Daily readings for the ammonia, and in some cases boiler, and air systems.
• Complete assigned PM’s in a timely manner.
• Periodic use and maintenance of fitted full face respirator.
• Assist Ammonia Technicians with periodic projects.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are required due to working within small department, as people, items, and equipment at our facilities depend on us.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0-2 years of mechanical experience.
• Required to be able to pass and maintain annual medical and pulmonary fit tests for respirator use.
• The Refrigeration Technician 1 should be in training for at least one year before becoming eligible to progress to a Refrigeration Technician 2.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Refrigerated food manufacturing plants.
• Use of technology such as computers, mobile devices, etc. preferred.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, and moving around the systems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• The environment may be wet or dry and temperatures may range from -20°F to 110°F.
• Repetitive pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending and lifting objects in excess of 80 lbs.
• Requires walking or standing for long periods of time, ascending and descending stairs and ladders.
• Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.
