What you will do as a Refrigeration Technician:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems (compressors, pumps, valves, condensers, etc.)
• Monitor and adjust equipment settings to protect product quality
• Handle water treatment systems and remove ice buildup
• Maintain logs, complete reports, and inspect system safety features
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including PLC systems
• Coordinate with contractors and team members to complete work safely
• Follow OSHA, EPA, PSM/RMP regulations and maintain related documentation
• Respond quickly to urgent breakdowns or system failures
• Support other facility maintenance needs and help train team members

What you need to be a Refrigeration Technician:

• Technical degree preferred or equivalent field experience
• 2+ years of experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems
• Certifications (or ability to earn): RETA CARO/CIRO (Ammonia Operator Certifications), HAZWOPER 8 & 24 Hour Training, Respirator Certification, Valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to work in cold environments (coolers/freezers), lift up to 90 lbs., and stand/walk for long periods with or without reasonable accommodations
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and safety procedures
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
