Job summary

Colorado Premium Foods seeks a Refrigeration Technician II to support industrial refrigeration systems across the warehouse. Under supervision, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical components to keep operations running smoothly.

You will monitor performance, record maintenance, comply with OSHA/EPA standards, and assist with safety programs. This role may require nights or weekends and physical work in cold environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years refrigeration/maintenance experience.
• Proof of Ammonia Operator 1 and Operator 2 certifications.

Job Title: Refrigeration Technician IIReports to: Regulatory Compliance/Refrigeration ManagerSummary: Under general guidance of lead tech, supervision, or management, performing refrigerationoperations and preventative maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse. Provide maintenancesupport as necessary to ensure operational objectives are consistently met. Perform basictroubleshooting and repair of industrial refrigeration, mechanical and electrical systems as needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates and performs repair(s) and adjustment(s) of refrigeration system. Continuously monitorssystem performance and determines when system is not operating correctly, then corrects deficiencyif within skill set or advises lead, supervision or management of deviations and consequences.Troubleshoots equipment, makes repairs and/or recommends corrective action(s).Performs routine maintenance on various types of warehouse equipment in accordance withapplicable OSHA & EPA Standards. Conducts tests of safety equipment to ensure OSHA, EPA andoperational standards are adhered to. Is familiar with all OSHA, EPA program requirements forrefrigeration such as PSM & RMP. Engaged in efforts related to risk management and USDAcompliance. Champion safety by promoting, maximizing, and promptly correcting or addressing anypotential safety issues.Supports implementation and sustainment of Colorado Premium Operating System (AOS). Tests,maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as multi-meters, gauges,etc. Is familiar with maintenance and testing of fire alarm and protection systems.Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses tools and equipment carefully asinstructed. Maintains accurate required daily documentation and preventive maintenance records.Follow all SOP’s, GMP’s and safety policies and practices as required.Keeps work area (clean, organized, etc.), and performs housekeeping duties as required. Performsother maintenance related work and job assignments as required.Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with five years combinedRefrigeration and/or Maintenance experience (relevant Technical School certification programand/or Associates Degree program considered as credit in lieu of employment experience).Proficient in MS Office Suite, and knowledge of industry product reporting systems.Must have proof of attended and passed Ammonia Operator 1 certification from anaccredited/recognized ammonia school such as Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP) orRefrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA). (Required).Must be willing and capable of attending and passing Ammonia Operator 2 certification from anaccredited/recognized ammonia school such as Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP) orRefrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA).
