Job summary

Koch Foods in Mississippi is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Supervisor to oversee the refrigeration technicians and ensure safe, compliant operation of plant equipment including boilers and PSM programs.

You will plan manpower, mentor technicians, enforce preventive maintenance, and drive quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across hazmat and environmental standards.

The role offers on-site work in a family-oriented company with pay, benefits, and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of refrigeration (pneumatics, plumbing, electricity, hydraulics, general equipment) required.
• 2+ years supervisory/leadership experience required.
• Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems, boilers, high-pressure water systems and PSM.
• Knowledge of refrigeration operations in poultry or similar industry preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with computers and related software.

• Plan, organize and manage manpower to maintain efficient operation and plant performance.
• Oversee work quality, ensure standards are met, and coach technicians to troubleshoot problems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance related to hazmat, PSM, health & safety, environmental standards and equipment operations.
• All other relevant duties to the job.

Job description

• Responsible for oversight of the refrigeration technicians.
  
• Ensure proper upkeep and function of PSM Program.
  
• Plan, organize and manage manpower ensuring safe and efficient operation and compliance of plant equipment.
  
• Oversee and lead assigned refrigeration team members.
  
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of all refrigeration, boilers and chemical equipment through administration of preventive maintenance program.
  
• Oversee work quality and completion of tasks, ensuring standards and specifications are met.
  
• Assist and coach technicians to troubleshoot problems.
  
• Ensure regulatory compliance relating to hazmat, PSM, health & safety, environmental standards and equipment operations.
  
• All other relevant duties to the job.

Requirements

• In depth knowledge in all aspects of refrigeration (i.e., pneumatics, plumbing, electricity, hydraulics, general refrigeration equipment, etc.) required.

Physical Requirements

• Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
• Frequently sit for long periods.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
• May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments.
• Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
