Job description

Refrigeration Service Supervisor

Description
The Refrigeration Service Supervisor will provide field oversight for assigned service technicians within the RD&S Service Division. The Field Service Supervisor is reporting to the Service Manager and coordinating with the Service Support Manager. These duties include technician field support and training, proper safety procedures, preventive maintenance service execution, specialty technical services, system commissioning support, and warranty. Coordinate and provide assistance to sister companies in the Kelvin Group when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the effort to develop and maintain a professional work environment based on the Kelvin Group core values of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Respect, and Excellence.
  • Assure RD&S standards are met and complete at all customer sites.
  • First point of contact for technicians for technical matters related to designated support area and/or accounts.
  • Supervise and influence field technicians to maintain proper flow of field reports and ensure that all technicians are filing work orders at the completion of the day in the proper format and on time.
  • Coordinate all work and account work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator.
  • Work with the technician team to oversee site preventive maintenance task completion and ensure all documentation is properly addressed with the Preventive Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Work with the service team to review and ensure customer stock / inventory is properly maintained for maximum system up-time.
  • Supervise RD&S technicians to include continuing review of job performance, resolve chronic system failures that could result in multiple customer call backs, assist in correcting safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
  • Focus on continuing education of the Service Group by attending both in-person and virtual seminars sponsored by industry organizations such as IIAR, RETA, Frick Company, etc.
  • Lead the effort to develop the technical capabilities of team service technicians. Work with service management to implement plans that will increase technical expertise with an emphasis on safety training, job site training and factory training. This will be accomplished by visiting job sites, working alongside service technicians, and providing instruction on the following:
    • Troubleshooting procedures
    • Completing scheduled Preventive Maintenance Tasks
    • Completing assigned tasks in a safe productive manner
    • Communicating and documenting completed work with customer site contact and RD&S service coordinator
  • Communication skills – Appropriate communication with end users and civil conflict resolution
  • Balancing daily workload for appropriate stop point at the end of each day.
  • Document performance of all service technicians in the supervisor’s team along with the Service Manager and assist in preparing yearly reviews.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • High School Diploma
  • Technical/trade school certificate in refrigeration. Advanced education within the RETA certification 1 through 4 and IR 1-19/ CR 1-20 modules.
  • Advanced OEM training for equipment start-up and service.
  • Must complete all required safety and equipment training to perform the services RD&S offers to clients.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and have a strong drive to learn and grow in the refrigeration service field.
  • Travel up to 90% locally in the service branch area
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position
