Foster Farms is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician in California to maintain and repair ammonia systems, chillers, HVAC, and related equipment. You will monitor temperatures, respond to trouble calls, and uphold food safety and USDA standards while working in a fast-paced production environment.

The role requires 5+ years in refrigeration, strong English communication, and the ability to work weekends and rotating shifts.

• Minimum 5 years of refrigeration experience.
• Troubleshoot and make on-the-spot corrections in emergency situations.
• Must have good written and verbal English communications skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• A refrigeration mechanical test will be administered and utilized to determine the skill level.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work from a ladder.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces, pass a SCBA physical exam.
• Must be certified or become certified to work on Freon systems.
• Must be able to work weekends and rotating shifts.
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.

• Monitor and adjust product cooler temperatures.
• Respond to trouble calls appropriately.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping, sanitation and food safety requirements while performing job duties.
• Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to ensure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

Rate: $37.75

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am).

• To perform all duties as specified at the level 8 classification, including, but not limited to observing and making necessary adjustments and/or repair to ammonia systems, air compressors, chilled water, chlorine, ice maker and delivery, HVAC and hot water generation and delivery systems.
• Monitor and make adjustments to product cooler temperatures.
• Respond to trouble calls appropriately.
• Other duties as assigned to include: general cleaning and/or assisting other crews if required and maintain safety, housekeeping, sanitation and food safety requirements while performing job duties.
• Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to insure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
