Job summary

Florida Department of Military Affairs is seeking a skilled Refrigeration/ HVAC technician to inspect, install, and maintain air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems at the Starke, FL location.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and two years of experience in refrigeration system operation and maintenance, with the ability to read blueprints. This is a cooperative agreement position with opportunities for certification and advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems.
• Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics and plan work accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of the procedures and methods for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration and air-conditioning units and component parts.
• Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical repair work.
• Knowledge of safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work.
• Skill in using hand tools.
• Skill in installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration units and component parts.
• Skilled in operation of a backhoe.
• Skill in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
