Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Refrigeration Engineering Intern for an in-person role supporting our Refrigeration Engineering team on real client projects. You will build foundational engineering principles, work with teams on active projects, and help develop drafting and design documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.

You will complete weekly specialized learning courses, participate in site visits with project leads, and gain exposure to diverse project types across the firm.

Qualifications

  • Completion of 3+ years of a mechanical engineering or related undergraduate program
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Support cooling load calculations and equipment specifications for refrigeration projects
  • Build AutoCAD and Revit drafting skills through hands-on refrigeration system design
  • Work with engineering teams on active projects and assignments
  • Complete weekly specialized learning courses covering refrigeration fundamentals and product selection software
  • Coordinate across disciplines on multidisciplinary refrigeration projects
  • Attend site visits with project leads when opportunities allow

Refrigeration Engineering Intern
Position Description

Refrigeration Engineering Intern at Cushing Terrell. This is an in-person internship supporting our Refrigeration Engineering team on real client projects.

What does this role involve day to day? You will build a base foundation of engineering principles and code requirements, working with engineering teams on active refrigeration projects and assignments.

What will I create? You will help develop drafting and design documentation using AutoCAD and Revit, and support cooling load calculations and equipment specifications.

What does success look like in this internship? You will complete weekly specialized learning courses covering refrigeration fundamentals, cooling loads, and product selection software, participate in site visits with project leads, and leave with a clear picture of what it means to work in the AEC industry.

Position Wage Range*

The expected wage range for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications**
  • Completion of 3+ years of a mechanical engineering or related undergraduate program
