Job summary

Albertsons Companies in Palm Springs is seeking a Refrigeration Construction Tech to install, retrofit and service refrigeration equipment across facilities. You will troubleshoot systems, read blueprints, and coordinate with store teams and contractors to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, EPA 608 certification, and hands-on electrical and piping skills. We offer a fast-paced environment with opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; building-related vocational programs preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Computer literacy is required.
• Willing to work day or night shifts, including overtime and emergencies.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, prints and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Install, retrofit and build refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, wiring, controls, piping and valves during installation.
• Interpret blueprints for walk-in boxes and coil layouts.
• Operate scissor lift, forklift and other equipment safely.
• Perform administrative tasks: material orders, purchase orders, data entry for refrigerant reports.
• Coordinate with office managers, store associates, coworkers and outside contractors.
• Maintain an organized, neat and safe work environment.
