Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Part Time Group Exercise Instructor for Huntington YMCA. You will lead energizing group classes, ensuring safety and inclusivity, while supporting members in achieving health goals.

The ideal candidate has at least one year in group exercise, an NCCA-certified credential, and CPR/First Aid. Certification for specific formats (Yoga, Spin, etc.) is preferred. Hourly rate aligns with YMCA pay scales.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of group exercise experience.
• NCCA-accredited certification (ACE, AFFA, NASM, NSCA, ISSA).
• Current certification for teaching a specific group exercise format (e.g., Yoga, Spin, Les Mills).
• Experience in health and wellness programming and group instruction.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe group classes as directed.
• Engages participants to support health and wellbeing goals.
• Keeps up with wellness trends via YUSA courses and external training.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and participants.
• Observes and adjusts to accommodate diverse abilities and needs.
• Maintains attendance records in MotionVibe.
