Job summary

Kenwood Autobody in Germantown, MD is seeking a Refinish Technician Helper to support the refinish department. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may consider 6 months of related collision repair experience. Valid driver’s license is preferred. The team emphasizes teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of related experience in collision repair preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist refinish technicians with vehicle surface preparation, including sanding, masking, taping, and cleaning prior to painting.
• Support painters by mixing paint, preparing spray equipment, applying primers, and ensuring accurate color matching and coating application.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
• Operate and maintain refinishing tools and equipment such as spray guns, sanders, power tools, and hand tools in a safe and proper manner.
• Assist with documentation of repairs and maintain accurate records for each vehicle as required.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators, at all times.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of paints, thinners, and hazardous materials.
• Collaborate effectively with technicians, painters, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall shop operations.
