CHS Inc., a leading agribusiness, is offering a Process Engineer Intern position at its McPherson, Kansas refinery. You will provide technical support to refinery Process Engineers for multiple units to optimize performance while adhering to safety, environmental, and economic guidelines.

We seek a detail-oriented student currently pursuing Chemical Engineering, able to work 40 hours per week, with strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Chemical Engineering program at a four-year college/university.
• Available to work 40 hours per week.
• Junior enrolled in a Chemical Engineering program at a four-year college/university.
• Previous internship experience in the petrochemical or refining industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine engineering calculations.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret detailed unit operations data to troubleshoot and optimize operating issues.
• Issue recommendations to improve unit yields and energy usage.
• Recognize and report safety, health and environmental issues that impact operations and personnel.
• Interpret instructions and apply engineering principles on assignments and complex features.
• Projects may include equipment design, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation.
