Job summary

Suncor is seeking an experienced pipe fitter/welder at the Commerce City refinery to fabricate and install piping and related components. The role requires reading drawings/ISOs, completing high‑quality work, and maintaining welding certifications.

Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential for this safety‑sensitive position. The hourly position offers overtime and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of fitting and welding experience with piping, tubing, shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels and boilers.
• High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a 6G SMAW Uphill test proctored by Suncor and stay active.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and ISOs for fabrication and field installations.
• Fabricate and install threaded, socket welded and butt weld piping configurations.
• Install valves and steam tracing, test piping systems, hangers and supports.
• Operate tools and equipment including decks, forklifts, lifts, rigging, and cutting tools.
• Maintain welding certification with x-ray quality.
