Job summary

Materion is seeking a Refinery Operations Manager to lead the Operations group and drive safety and gross margin profitability across chemical, thermal, and mechanical refining. The role reports to the Plant Manager and partners with R&D and Quality to successfully introduce new products to manufacturing.

You will mentor the operations team, set priorities, and coordinate staffing and schedule planning to meet business goals while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field with 5–7 years’ manufacturing leadership experience.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to ensure safe, quality, on-time manufacturing.
• Apply 5S and comply with safety and quality policies.
• Use lean methods to drive waste reduction and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and suppliers to introduce new products.
• Develop and mentor the operations team.
• Plan staffing, scheduling and manpower for production.
• Lead continuous improvement and training aligned with company strategy.
