Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. The role involves caring for patients and developing effective, professional relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

**This position works regular clinical hours, Monday - Friday. It is fully remote. Applicants must** **be licensed in CO or MT to qualify.**

**Essential Functions:**

  1. Reviews patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness, and drug-drug interactions. Implements evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use, ensuring therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective, and medications are dispensed accurately.
  2. Oversees and/or participates in ensuring medications are prepared and delivered timely, stored securely, and appropriate for stability and workflow.
  3. Provides counseling to patients, promotes medication education and adherence, and ensures respectful, professional service.
  4. Completes all regulatory and compliance training, maintains clear documentation, and adheres to laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  5. Supervises and directs activities of interns, technicians, and support staff as needed. Provides clinical consultation and clarification to healthcare professionals.
  6. Proactively resolves issues related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
  7. Identifies areas for process improvement to enhance patient satisfaction and safety, and participates in departmental meetings.
  8. Supports organizational directives, including clinical, compliance, operational, and customer service initiatives.
  9. Supports pharmacy leadership initiatives at local and enterprise levels.

**Qualifications:**

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • License to practice pharmacy in the state and dispense controlled substances.
  • Current knowledge of relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Effective communication, management, and project skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.
  • Preferred: experience in an integrated healthcare system, board certification, or health system residency.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Ability to see, read, and assess information, labels, and equipment.
  • Frequent verbal communication and listening with quick understanding.
  • Manual dexterity for handling supplies and equipment, including computer use.

**Location:** Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

**Scheduled Hours:** 0 (hourly rate $59.86 - $87.98, dependent on experience)
