Job summary

Kittitas Valley Healthcare is seeking a part-time Clinic Referrals Coordinator to handle referral requests, arrange appointments at referral sites, and secure pre-authorizations. The role collaborates with multiple departments to ensure complete patient information for efficient referrals.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in a medical clinic, familiarity with insurance verification, and strong MS Office skills; credentials in medical coding are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• At least two years of medical clinic experience.
• Exposure to insurance verification and authorization fundamentals.
• Current computer experience (medium to expert level) in Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Process referral requests from the providers, including scheduling at referral sites and obtaining pre-authorizations.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure all necessary patient information is provided for referrals.

Job Description

The Clinic Referrals Coordinator is responsible for processing referral requests from the providers, including making appointments at the referral sites, obtaining pre-authorizations and obtaining insurance referral approval. The referral coordinator will work together with other departments to assure all the necessary patient information is provided to make the referral process as efficient as possible.

Qualifications

What is required...

• At least two years of medical clinic experience
• Exposure to insurance verification and authorization fundamentals
• Current computer experience (medium to expert level) in Microsoft products

What is preferred...

• Current experience with clinic-based computer programs such as an Electronic Medical Record
• Previous experience with medical coding
• Certified Professional Coder from The American Academy of Professional Coders
• Certified Medical Administrative Assistant from the National Healthcareer Association
• Certified Billing and Coding Specialist from the National Healthcareer Association

Additional Information

Wage: Wage range starts at $20.84/hour and goes up to $31.59/hour. Actual wage will be determined based on previous years' of applicable experience. This position may also be eligible to receive an additional 15% premium in lieu of benefits.
