Job Summary:

The Authorization Representative within the Referrals Division is responsible for processing internal and external referral requests, obtaining insurance authorizations, and performing clerical duties to support physician offices. This role requires effective communication with medical offices and insurance companies to ensure timely and accurate referral processing, while adhering to company policies and promoting a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process referral requests accurately and timely.
• Obtain insurance authorizations from relevant companies.
• Scan, fax, and maintain medical records and documentation.
• Respond to correspondence related to referrals and authorizations.
• Answer and manage a multi-line phone system professionally.
• Adhere to established company compliance, policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the referral process and team objectives.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum of one year experience working in a medical office environment conducting insurance authorizations.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Experience working with Work Queues in a medical office setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to operate a multi-line phone system effectively.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working within a healthcare referral or insurance authorization team.
• Familiarity with medical office administrative procedures and compliance standards.

Special Considerations:

• Work performed in an office building cubicle setting.
