We’re looking for a Referral Specialist who wants their work to mean something—someone who brings care, accountability, and purpose to what they do every day.

Why This Role Matters

This role plays an important part in helping LUX Infusion deliver a patient‑first experience by ensuring referrals move smoothly from prescription to service determination.

In this role, you’ll contribute to work that:

  • Helps patients feel supported, informed, and confident during the referral process
  • Builds trust and reliability with prescribers, healthcare partners, and field teams
  • Keeps care moving forward through clear communication, follow‑through, and coordination

Every referral represents a patient navigating a complex healthcare journey—and this role helps make that journey clearer and more connected.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned referral sources, patients, and aligned field‑based sales partners
  • Navigate new referrals from receipt through service determination within the LUX Infusion pharmacy network
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with prescribers, providers, and healthcare staff through timely, professional communication
  • Collect and coordinate required referral information, including patient demographics, benefits, clinical history, and prescription details
  • Partner closely with Reimbursement Specialists to communicate benefit investigation outcomes, including patient responsibility and financial assistance options
  • Coordinate with Nurse Coordination teams to support patients requiring in‑home nursing services
  • Collaborate with Pharmacy Operations to ensure clinical and fulfillment teams have what they need to onboard and support new patients
  • Maintain accurate documentation of referral activity and communications within systems of record
  • Manage referral volume, turnaround times, and workload priorities to meet service goals
  • Use technology and digital tools effectively to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Bring thoughtfulness, reliability, and accountability to every referral you support
What We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you bring:

  • Deep care about the human impact of your work—especially for patients and caregivers
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ownership and accountability for managing referrals from start to finish
  • The ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfort learning new systems and adapting as processes evolve
  • A desire to be part of a collaborative, clinician‑led organization

You don’t need to check every box—we care just as much about how you show up as what’s on your resume.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing patient referrals, prescription activities, or reimbursement services in infusion or specialty therapies
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting (patient or provider‑facing)
  • Experience with electronic health records or pharmacy patient management systems
  • Working knowledge of medical or pharmacy terminology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel up to 5% for business needs, as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting prescriber, patient, and field‑facing communications related to infusion or specialty therapy referrals
  • General understanding of prescription benefits, payer requirements, and verification processes
  • Familiarity with infusion therapy workflows and patient needs
