Job summary

Lumicera Health Services is seeking a Referral Coordinator to join our team. You will assist in processing inbound specialty prescriptions and coordinate the prior authorization process to meet patient needs while building collaborative relationships with prescribers’ offices.

The role involves coordinating prescription deliveries, communicating insurance and financial information, and developing new clinic relationships. Join us for a compliant, patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
Certified CPhT or Licensed Medical Assistant preferred.
One year experience in specialty pharmacy or medical office preferred.
Participate in and support compliance program objectives.
Ability to interact cooperatively and respectfully with coworkers.

Responsibilities

Initiate prescription prior authorizations on behalf of prescriber offices.
Coordinate and confirm with patients’ prescription deliveries.
Initiate contact and develop new clinic/prescriber relationships.
Communicate current prescription, insurance and financial needs to pharmacists and staff.
Interact with clinics, pharmacies, payers and providers to ensure continuity of care.
Adhere to federal and state laws and maintain high ethical standards.
Serve as liaison between medical staff, outpatient pharmacies, insurers and patients.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Lumicera Health Services is seeking a Referral Coordinator to join our team!

The Referral Coordinator will assist in processing all inbound specialty prescriptions from referring prescribers. They are tasked with coordinating and assuring the smooth flow of the prescription referral and prior authorization process to meet the needs of patients while establishing collaborative relationships and communication with the prescriber’s office.

Responsibilities

How do I make an impact on my team?

Initiate prescription prior authorizations on behalf of prescriber’s offices
Coordinate and confirm with patients’ prescription deliveries
Initiate contact and create new potential clinic/prescriber relationships
Communicate current and relevant prescription, insurance and financial needs as they relate to appropriate pharmacists, providers, clinical support staff and patients
Interacts with clinic employees, including but not limited to pharmacists, clinical staff, fiscal personnel, department managers, access services staff, coding staff, and billing assistants. External contacts include but are not limited to third party payers, manufacturers, prescription benefit management companies, external pharmacy personnel, and referring providers and their support staff
The Employee will act in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws and with the highest ethical standards that we consistently strive to achieve. Thus, legal and ethical compliance is an essential duty of each employee
Serves as the liaison between the medical staff, outpatient pharmacies, insurance providers and patients to improve communication and continuity of care
Other duties as assigned
