Job summary

Emerald Coast Infectious Diseases / American Medical Group is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Referral Coordinator to manage the referral process from start to finish. You will verify insurance, obtain prior authorizations, schedule appointments, and ensure clear communication among providers, patients, and specialists.

The role requires strong organization, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience with EMR systems. On-site Florida position with competitive benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process all incoming medical referrals from providers, diagnostic services, and facilities.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Schedule appointments and follow up with patients regarding referral status.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the EHR system.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and external offices on referral status.
• Send Thank You letters to referring providers.
• Ensure referrals are completed in a timely manner and meet compliance standards.
• Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Send physician consultation notes to referring providers.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Referral Coordinator to join our team and help facilitate smooth and efficient referrals from specialists and external services.Position Summary:The Medical Referral Coordinator plays a vital role in patient care by managing the referral process from start to finish.
