Job Summary
Cancer Care Northwest is hiring a full‑time Referral Coordinator. This position is primarily responsible for securing authorizations for services ordered by CCNW providers. The role includes insurance verification, maintaining accurate patient records, and working with Account Follow‑up to resolve denials around authorizations. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest/US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining accurate insurance, demographic, and eligibility information.
- Confirm patient insurance verification and eligibility to determine authorization requirements.
- Obtain pre‑authorization of services.
- Resolve patient questions and concerns regarding insurance authorizations. Refer patient to appropriate team if they voice concerns over out‑of‑pocket costs.
- Review paper and electronic completed authorizations for accuracy, forward for HIM scanning to patient chart.
- Work with Account Follow‑Up team to assist with denials around authorization issues.
- Perform all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) years of Medical Business Office experience (authorizations preferred).
- Some reception or office experience preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.
- Must successfully complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.
