Job summary

UAB Medical West Hospital in Alabama is seeking a Clinic Referral Clerk responsible for all referral functions in the clinic, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and entering patient information in the Meditech system.

You will pull charts, verify patient insurance information, and apply knowledge of various insurer processes to ensure smooth referrals and quality patient care.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with up to three months of related experience or training.

The Clinic Referral Clerk is responsible for all referral functions within the clinic. This includes, but is not limited to, answering the phone, scheduling appointments, entering patient information in the Meditech system, pulling charts and verifying patient insurance information. The Referral Clerk should have knowledge of various insurance company processes, coding and any other duties required to provide quality care to our patients.
