Qualifications

• CHAA: Certified Healthcare Access Associate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals from assigned area of specialty and secure pre-authorizations as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling of care based on clinical protocols and send confirmations to patients.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information accompanying referrals.
• Obtain and document pre-authorizations from third-party payers and track validity.
• Gather additional medical records to support preauthorization and medical necessity.
• Notify therapists of issues with referrals or insurance coverage.
• Inform patients about authorization status and alternative payment options.
