Responsibilities

• Completes entry of referrals and/or authorizations into EHR.
• Registers patients and obtains insurance authorization for new patients and hospital diagnostics.
• Coordinates follow-up care as referrals expire.
• Ensures insurance information is current and payer guidelines are followed.
• Maintains knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Communicates with PCPs, patients and departments to obtain required authorizations.
