Alsip-Merrionette Park Public Library District is seeking a part-time library professional to assist patrons with reference inquiries, research, bibliographic tasks, and basic technical help. Job description

This part-time position requires a service-oriented individual who is adept at handling reference inquiries and assisting patrons with research, bibliographic, and technical needs. This position also has extensive collection development responsibilities such as acquisitions and weedingand may assist in presenting programming or workshops to the public.

Candidate shouldhave a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited programor equivalent experience in the field (minimum one year).Basic technological skills and experience required. Must be able to bend & stoop, and reach up to 70 inches.

Starting hourly rate is $20.00---$25.00per hour, depending on qualifications. Position includes the following benefits: participation in retirement program (IMRF), paid vacation and paid holidays, sick time, and personal time.

28 Hours per week. Employee will work three 9--5 days per week and one 1--9 days per week. The employee will also be part of the weekend rotation (usually one Saturday or Sunday per month)
