Description
Primarily responsible for coordinating teaching, training, andcreation of tutorials for stakeholders. Responsible for referenceand outreach services, selection and integration of electronicresources within the curriculum and research arenas. Participate inthe continuous assessment of library services. Responsible forpromoting curriculum-integrated use of high-quality openeducational resources pertinent to health sciencesinstruction.
Works with the Director in support of strategic planning andparticipates in divisional and university-wide planning efforts.Coordinates with the Director and other staff to create, prioritizeand implement library goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
(40%) Coordination of Teaching and Training
- Coordinates teaching and training efforts within thedepartment and across campuses, to facilitate the coordinated useof innovative resources and teaching methods
- Identify and utilizes internal and external software andconferences for professional development opportunities for staff inorder to maintain and develop teaching and training skills
- Work with a team of librarians and faculty to initiate,redesign, and develop collaborative courses, modules, spaces, andresearch that support active learning pedagogy and curriculumdesign
- Develops, manages, administers, and evaluates informationliteracy tutorials for incoming students
(40%) Instruction and Reference
- Prepares for and instructs, th rough traditional classroom,distance education modes, and standalone sessions
- Develops and updates library instructional and/or promotionalmaterials using a variety of technologies based on usagestatistics, user feedback, and new resource rollout
- Provide research guidance to students and faculty bothindivid ually and in groups, including one weekly eveningshift
- Outreach to faculty, librarians, and academic technology staffto identify high-quality resources, including open educationalresources and other low-cost materials, which help to meet programand course learning outcomes
- Improve or develop services with inclusion in mind, serving toreduce barriers to learning and create a sense of belonging amongall library clientele
(20%) External Relations
- Actively participate on committees in division and Universityin a positive and professional manner

Education/Experience
- MLS from an ALA accredited program
- Previous experience equivalent to two full academic years as aprofessional librarian in an academic or health sciencelibrary

- Ability to focus on complex tasks for prolonged periods of timein order to complete tasks and projects
- Ability to understand and communicate complex ideas by means ofthe spoken and written word
